Omaha Potholes Night Set for April 24

Omaha Potholes

In a promotion that has its roots in an April Fools’ Day prank, the Omaha Storm Chasers (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League) will celebrate Omaha Potholes Night on April 24.

As part of April Fools’ Day joke, the Storm Chasers tweeted on Monday that they would be playing as the Potholes on June 31. After a strong response, however, the Storm Chasers are now planning to celebrate Omaha Potholes Night on April 24 and are rolling out a limited line of Potholes merchandise. Proceeds from merchandise sales will go toward repairing little league fields damaged by floods in the Omaha Metro area.

After pranking sports business reporter Darren Rovell with the April Fool’s Day announcement, the Storm Chasers organization is also extending a special invitation to the Senior Executive Producer for The Action Network to attend Omaha Potholes Night and throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

In addition to pothole-related on-field games, baseball-related items will be auctioned off during that night’s game to raise money through Chasers Charities to help restore little league fields damaged by the historic floods in the Omaha Metro community. The Storm Chasers are currently in the process of filling in the rest of the details for that night’s activities, which will be announced in the near future.

A limited run of Omaha Potholes shirts and caps are now available to be pre-ordered through the Storm Front Team Store. 20% of the proceeds will go to helping restore little league fields damaged by the historic floods in the Omaha Metro community through Chasers Charities. Jerseys will be available on a later date in the Storm Front Team Store.

April 24 is also Wiener Wednesday, with hot dogs available for just 25 cents each, and Bark at the Park, giving fans the chance to enjoy a baseball game with their lovable pups at Werner Park.
