The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Class AA; Eastern League) are installing a new videoboard at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium, providing a much larger replacement to the previous display.
At over 1,850 square feet, the new video board is nearly five times the size of the previous video screen (384 square feet).
Standing 31.5 ft. high, 58.8 ft. wide, and 66.7 ft. from corner to corner, the new display will be much larger than the old model (16 ft. high x 24 ft. wide), which will enter retirement after 14 years.
A brand new instant replay system, presented by Service Credit Union, will be among the many in-game improvements for the 2019 season. With the addition of new HD cameras and a completely redesigned production room, Service Credit Union Instant Replays will provide an up-close-and-personal look at the future stars of Major League Baseball, and the plays they make on the field.
The new Visua LED video board features True Pixel Display Technology, 600×1120 resolution, and more than 2 million high quality LED lamps. The screen can display one large image or up to five dynamic zones, giving fans a clear view of the lineup, line score, count, statistics, player information, pitch velocity, and much more.
The head and claws of the Fisher Cats primary logo — complete with luminescent eyes — will adorn the top of the video board to create a truly unique look.
“Like everything we do here, we’re making this upgrade with our fans in mind,” said Fisher Cats President Mike Ramshaw. “We’ve got some of the best on-field entertainment in Minor League Baseball, and this new video board will help bring the fan experience to new heights. This is ‘Ferocious Fun’ like you’ve never seen it before.”
“We’re so excited to be a part of this project and can’t wait to see the fan reactions to this new, state of the art video board,” said Wendy Beswick, Vice President of Marketing at Service Credit Union. “There is a wonderful sense of team pride at every Fisher Cats game, and we look forward to being a part of the Fisher Cats community.”
The Fisher Cats new production room will feature HD cameras, a wireless intercom system, and a 4-channel live video switcher with hundreds of advanced production and graphics capabilities. As an added bonus, fans who follow the team on MiLB.TV can now enjoy home game broadcasts in high definition.
The new video board and entertainment system will be designed, manufactured, installed and integrated by Visua out of La Crosse, Wisc. Video board installation is scheduled to begin later this month, and be completed by Opening Day on Thursday, April 4.
