Creedon Reaches Agreement to Buy Nashua Silver Knights

Nashua Silver Knights

John Creedon, Jr. is set to expand his summer-collegiate baseball ownership portfolio, as he has reached an agreement to purchase the Nashua Silver Knights (Futures League) from Drew Weber

A purchase of the Silver Knights would give Creedon a second franchise in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League, joining the Worcester Bravehearts. After reportedly considering the addition of another club over the past few years, he reached an agreement last week to buy the Silver Knights from Weber.

When discussing the agreement this week, Creedon noted that he had been exploring opportunities to purchase another summer-collegiate franchise and believes he has found a perfect fit in the Silver Knights. Among the advantages he noted were the support from the Nashua, NH community, as well as the team’s Holman Stadium. More from The Telegraph:

“We’re always looking or considering opportunities that might come our way,” he said. “We want to be smart about it. We don’t want to expand for the sake of expanding – we want to make sure it’s the right community, the right facility. All the factors for a successful franchise would all line up. …

“For us, this is a logical growth step. It makes sense in a lot of ways from a business perspective.”

And that’s why he chose to make those talks with Weber more serious about Nashua.

“The ballpark is a jewel, and Nashua’s got a tremendous baseball history,” Creedon, Jr. said. “The community’s intriguing and I know it’s very supportive of the team. … There’s a lot to like about Nashua Silver Knights baseball.”

The sale of the Silver Knights is expected to close in the coming months, according to a report Wednesday from the Worcester Business Journal. Creedon will maintain his ownership of the Bravehearts.
