Fans can now learn more information about the future Atlanta Braves spring training complex, as the team has opened a preview center in North Port, FL.
Currently under construction, the new spring training facility is set to be fully operational for the Braves in 2020. The complex will include a ballpark that features 6,200 fixed seats and an additional 1,000 berm seats, plus amenities like a 360-degree concourse and an outfield patio and bar area.
To build anticipation and provide prospective ticket holders with more information, the Braves have opened a preview center at a North Port shopping center. Preview centers have become common ways for teams to tout amenities that will be featured in their future facilities, and Tuesday’s opening of their spring training preview center allows the Braves to follow that model. More from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution:
The preview center, located in a North Port shopping center, will offer a virtual tour of the $125 million stadium project. Images of Braves players past and present, starting with Hank Aaron, adorn the storefront.
Season-ticket deposits can be made during appointments. The Braves also plan a public event in North Port on June 16 where deposits can be made.
The timeline for the new spring training complex’s completion has changed since construction began last fall. It was previously anticipated that the Braves would move their full operations there in 2019, but that was later pushed back to 2020. The Braves are currently expected to close out their spring with one game at the new North Port ballpark next year, but exercised an option to return to Champion Stadium and the ESPN Wide World of Sports in 2019. Full spring training operations would move to North Port in 2020.
