We have a new look for the Erie SeaWolves (Class AA; Eastern League) in 2018, as the team unveils the first major changes to on-field uniforms since the club released new branding prior to the 2013 season.
On select dates in 2018, the SeaWolves will wear jerseys featuring the team’s hometown nickname, Howlers. To accompany their Howlers jerseys, the team will wear matching black, white and red pinwheel caps featuring a howling wolf logo. This new uniform combination will debut on Monday, April 16, on Nickname Night, which will include player nicknames and playful personal facts on the stadium video board. It will also be worn on select dates throughout the 2018 season.
“The SeaWolves are frequently called the Howlers by both Erie fans and the local media,” SeaWolves Team President Greg Coleman said. “We wanted to embrace the team’s regional nickname and give fans the chance to connect with the players too.”
The SeaWolves also introduced a bright yellow jersey featuring a new ERIE wordmark across the chest. The first E in the ERIE wordmark is adorned with a red bandana with white polka dots. A new pirate-inspired hook and baseball logo adorns the right sleeve of each yellow jersey.
The team’s uniform collection will once again feature a red jersey. The SeaWolves’ previous red jerseys featured ERIE across the front. The team’s new red jersey now features SEAWOLVES arched on the front and the team’s E-flag logo on the right sleeve. Additionally, a deeper customized red color has been used to give the jerseys a sharper tone.
The three new jerseys will join the team’s black and gray jerseys, which will remain unchanged for 2018.
SPECIAL EVENT JERSEYS
The SeaWolves will wear four different special event jerseys in 2018. On June 8-9, the team will wear pink jerseys to support the fight against breast cancer on UPMC Health Plan ‘Paint the Park Pink’ weekend. On Memorial Day (May 28) and Military Appreciation Night (July 14), the SeaWolves will wear camouflage jerseys to be auctioned on July 14 to benefit the Pennsylvania Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Home. On July 27, Erie’s hometown team will take the field in special SnowWolves jerseys and caps for Christmas in July presented by Ariens Company. On July 28, the SeaWolves will host Star Wars Night with the team wearing custom Star Wars jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game.
