We have some Camelback Ranch-Glendale upgrades on tap for spring training 2018, as the Cactus League home of the Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers will see scoreboard and shade upgrades.
Both sets of improvements are geared toward fans. A new 30′ x 50′ Daktronics videoboard replaces the old scoreboard in right-center field. In addition, two new 100′ shade structures will be installed along the first-base concourse at The Ranch. The structures, designed by facility architect HKS, complement existing design features while providing more shaded seating options for fans. Shade, of course, is one of the most sorely needed commodities at Camelback Ranch-Glendale, and these new structures will address fan requests.
“The new scoreboard and shade structures are part of the world-class amenities that make Camelback Ranch the best place for residents and visitors to come enjoy a premium fan experience as they cheer on their favorite teams,” said Glendale mayor Jerry Weiers in a press statement.
“We are proud to partner with the City of Glendale in introducing these enhancements during this milestone season, as they perfectly showcase the evolution of the facility,” said Jeff Overton, Camelback Spring Training’s president and general manager in a press statement. “It’s exciting to continually offer more features and options for our guests, especially since fans have supported us in record numbers over the past several seasons.”
