Fresno Grizzlies Bringing Back Mascot Weddings

Fresno Grizzlies Mascot Weddings 2017

Parker T. Bear is set to once again officiate weddings at Chukchansi Park, as the Fresno Grizzlies (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League) are staging My Big Fat Fresno Wedding Show 2 on May 4.

In what was believed to be a first among major or minor league mascots, Parker T. Bear became an ordained minister and performed wedding services on May 26 of last year. Six couples took part in the event, during which Parker T. Bear officiated three weddings and three vowel renewals. Following the season, we gave the event our annual Promotion of the Year award.

Parker T. Bear will be at it once again next week, when the Grizzlies invite fans to have their wedding or vowel renewal service performed at Chukchansi Park. The team has announced details on this year’s promotion, which will be staged alongside/in the Tecate Cantina and feature several other offerings. Couples who participate in the promotion and present a valid marriage license will receive buy one, get one free field level reserved tickets. In addition, the Grizzlies will be offering a DJ and photos for this year’s event, and couples who desire a reception-style outing can purchase a package that includes appetizers, cake and tickets for a $20 per person add-on.

The services by Parker T. Bear will not be the only promotion offered that evening, as the Grizzlies are also hosting Tecate Thursday. That offer includes 24 oz Tecate and Tecate Light cans for $2, through the end of the fifth inning, and 12-oz. fountain sodas for $1. It will also be happy hour, which features a 12-oz. beer (or fountain soda), burger, and fries for $5 from 6:05 until first pitch.
