A single-season attendance record was broken on Thursday, as the Charleston RiverDogs (Low A; Sally League) set a new franchise high.
It was noted yesterday that the RiverDogs were just 2,957 spectators shy of the record. The team surpassed that goal by drawing 3,457 fans. The RiverDogs have now welcomed in 293,161 fans through the turnstiles at The Joe this year after their final home game, surpassing the previous record of 292,661 set in 2015.
The hometown crowd was treated to a victory, as the RiverDogs defeated the Hagerstown Suns by a final of 8-2.
