Another bit of personnel news to report: Eric Leach is the new General Manager of the Bowling Green Hot Rods (Low A; Midwest League), replacing Adam Nuse, who is departing for the Nashville Sounds front office.
As reported earlier today, Nuse was named Sounds General Manager. “We want to thank Adam for his years of service to the Hot Rods and Bowling Green community,” said Hot Rods owner Stuart Katzoff. “We wish him all the best in his new role.”
Leach becomes the fourth General Manager in Hot Rods history.
“This is a tremendous opportunity and one that I am excited and humbled to start,” Leach said. “I have spent twelve years working in sports and seven of them in Kentucky to reach this point. Adam has done a great job of pointing us in the right direction and I look forward to building upon what he has accomplished.”
Originally from Omaha, Neb., Leach first came to Kentucky to help be a part in starting up the Lexington Legends (Low A; Sally League) franchise. He spent a total of five season working for the owners before briefly leaving sports and working in the nonprofit sector in the Dominican Republic. Upon returning to sports, Leach was the first person hired during the transition of ownership to Manhattan Capital Sports.
“We have been able to get to know Eric over the past couple of years and have full confidence in him and the staff to continue to provide great entertainment and a fun atmosphere to Southcentral Kentucky,” Katzoff said.
Leach currently resides in Bowling Green with his wife Sunshine, who works for the Warren County Public Library, and their two sons Colton and Jaxson.
