We’ll be hitting the road over the next few weeks, handing out Ballpark Digest 2014 Awards, visiting some great ballparks and seeing some old friends in the Minor League Baseball world.
On July 10, we’ll be at Parkview Field for a Fort Wayne TinCaps (Low A; Midwest League) award ceremony. As you’ll recall, in 2014 the TinCaps snared awards for Team of the Year and Best New Food Item for the Big Apple, and we’ll be at Parkview Field to hand over the hardware. If you can’t make it to the ballpark, we’ll also be making TV and radio appearances on the game broadcasts. We haven’t been to Parkview Field since it opened, so it should be exciting to see the upgrades and changes since then, as well as how the area around the ballpark has changed as well.
On July 11, we’ll be at Four Winds Field to check out some South Bend Cubs (Low A; Midwest League) action. The SB Cubs are one of the biggest stories of the year in Minor League Baseball, and we should see a big crowd hitting the ballpark.
On July 15 we’ll be at Werner Park for the Triple-A All-Star Game: the Omaha Storm Chasers (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League) always pull out the stops for big events, and we expect great things at one of MiLB’s big events.
On July 16 we’ll be at Haymarket Park to take in a Lincoln Saltdogs (independent; American Association) game. It’s been a long time since we’ve been to Lincoln: the last time we were there the ballpark was under construction. If you can’t make it to the ballpark, we’ll also be making a radio appearance on the game broadcast.
Finally, on July 21 we’ll be at lovely Witter Park for the Northwoods League All-Star Game, presenting the 2014 Ballpark Digest award for Organization of the Year to Big Top Baseball. We’ll also be taking in the wonders of the river of beer, this time working hard not to botch the video.
