Rockies game postponed after water-main break

Coors Field

This is something you don’t see often: Saturday night’s Cincinnati Reds/Colorado Rockies game was postponed after a mainline break stopped the flow of city water to Coors Field.

The issue: a water break outside the ballpark at 20th and Blake terminated the supply of water to Coors Field, rendering the restrooms and concession stands inoperable. That, of course, would be an impossible situation, and the Denver Office of Emergency Management requested the ballgame be postponed to Sunday, when the teams played a day-night doubleheader.
