Sad news out of Atlanta: a 29-year-old man fell to his death from the upper deck of Turner Field during last night’s Braves-Phillies game.
Ronald Homer of Conyers, described as a life-long Braves fan, was taking shelter from the rain and was reportedly heading back to his seat when the accident occurred. He landed in a parking lot outside the ballpark. From ajc.com:
Homer, 29, was transported to Atlanta Medical Center, where he later died, Officer John Chafee with Atlanta police said.
“At this time, there is no indication of foul play and the fall appears accidental,” Chafee said in an emailed statement.
Investigators remained at the scene late Monday trying to determine what led to the fall.
It’s the second fatality recorded at Turner Field: in 2008 a fan fell to his death within the ballpark.
