Wisconsin Woodchucks sold

Wisconsin WoodchucksThe Wisconsin Woodchucks (summer collegiate; Northwoods League) have been sold by Clark Eckhoff to Wisconsin native Mark Macdonald.

“Mark Macdonald will be a great asset to the Woodchucks, and our community,” Eckhoff said in a press release. “He is very civic minded which is important for further success of the Woodchucks. Mark is a Wisconsin native returning home.”

Macdonald’s family has owned and operated the Riverview Inn restaurant and golf course in North Bend, Wisconsin for over 35 years.  After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 1981, he received his MBA in finance from Portland State University in Oregon and embarked on a 30-year investment career in Los Angeles.

Eckhoff will remain with the Wausau-based team as the chairman of the team’s advisory board. Ryan Treu will remain as the team’s general manager as the franchise preps for the beginning of the 2012 Northwoods League season at the end of the month.
