The St. Cloud (Minn.) River Bats (summer collegiate; Northwoods League) have been sold, and the new investment team is set to be announced at a Wednesday press conference.
Joel Sutherland has owned the team since its inception. He also owned the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers in the same circuit before that team suspended operations for 2012.
Initially the River Bats played at Dick Putz Field, a small ballpark that served as the final home for the St. Cloud Rox (Class D; Northern League) but switched in 2007 to Joe Faber Field.
