Target Field adds second LEED certification

Minnesota TwinsTarget Field, already LEED-certified for the green practices incorporated in its construction, has garnered a second LEED certification, this time for ongoing operations and maintenance.

LEED certification is a measure of how environmentally friendly a building is; the certification from the U.S. Green Building Council is an important tool in the construction world. There are plenty of sports buildings to be LEED-certified for new construction (Nationals Park, Medlar Field at Lubrano Park) and LEED-certified for ongoing operations (AT&T Park, Toyota Center, Rose Garden). Target Field is the first to be certified both in new construction and ongoing operations.
