Ninety Minor League Baseball clubs will wear caps with the American flag etched into their logo throughout the Independence Day holiday weekend. The specialty caps are scarlet with a white front panel that features the American flag design etched into each team’s logo.
A Maple Leaf design will be used in the case of the Vancouver Canadians, the only MiLB club located in Canada.
The caps will be available for purchase in the stadiums of participating clubs, as well as on some clubs’ web sites.
The 90 clubs and Major League Baseball Properties, Minor League Baseball’s licensing agent, have agreed to donate all royalties from the sales of these caps to Welcome Back Veterans, a program which addresses the needs of returning American Veterans and their families. New Era Cap Co., which produced the caps, is also contributing a portion of the sales to the organization.
