Nice Saturday night for Dave Rosenfield, GM of the Norfolk Tides (Class AAA; International League): a few days after celebrating his 80th birthday he was honored by the team, the league and Norfolk officials with a Harbor Park tribune banner and more.
Rosenfield joined the Tides organization during the 1962 season and took over as general manager in 1963, making this his 56th year running the franchise. He’s one of the more interesting folks in baseball, to be sure.
Tides owner Ken Young, Norfolk Mayor Paul Fraim and International League President Randy Mobley were all on hand to award Rosenfield various and sundry items, including a baseball statue.
