We thought it a bit odd when we saw the news about Flavor Flav — that’s right, formerly of Public Enemy but perhaps best known for his Flavor of Love series on MTV — opening a fried-chicken restaurant in Clinton, Iowa, but here’s even odder news: he’s throwing out the first pitch at the Clinton LumberKings (Low Class A; Midwest League) home opener.
Flav will be on hand to greet fans and will throw out the first pitch prior to the 6:30 p.m. start time.
He made national news last February when he opened up his first fried-chicken restaurant, Flav’s Fried Chicken (or FFC) at 916 N. Second Street in Clinton. Interestingly, the food is reportedly pretty decent.
