Outlaws, Chico State reach ballpark lease for ’11

Chico OutlawsThe Chico Outlaws (independent; North American League) and Chico State University announced the team would be playing the 2011 season at the team’s only home in franchise history, Nettleton Stadium.

“It will be good to be back at The Net, said Chico Outlaws President Mike Marshall.  “We have been the most successful team in the GBL with our two titles, including last year’s league championship, and the home field advantage of playing in a great facility in front of the best fans in the league has been a big part of that.”

The lease extension is only for this season. Past that, it could potentially be extended further through mutual agreement of the two parties, though given what else is going on in pro baseball at this time we’re thinking that’s pretty unlikely.

“We are pleased to have the Outlaws continuing to provide great family entertainment and high quality minor league baseball in our facility,” said Chico State President Paul Zingg. “We were impressed with the quality of the team on the field in 2010 and with their front office and are looking forward to cheering for another season of pro ball this summer.”
