Aeros announce front-office additions

Akron AerosThe Akron Aeros (Class AA; Eastern League) announced several front-office changes today, as the team’s offseason makeover continues.

The list of hires:

  • Dan Foust – Assistant General Manager, Media & Marketing
  • Greg Berry – Director, Sales
  • Scott Riley – Director, Merchandise
  • Jason Kerton – Director, Food & Beverage
  • Ben Muell – Manager, Sales
  • Steve Baer – Operations Assistant

“We have a fantastic mix of individuals who all bring tremendous creative energy and ideas,” said Aeros Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer Jim Pfander. “Our front office remains committed to bringing affordable, fun, family-friendly entertainment to Canal Park and we eagerly await the beginning of the 2011 season.”

Foust previously spent nineteen years with the Cleveland Indians in a number of different marketing roles. He will be responsible for both media relations and marketing efforts for Akron.

Berry will oversee the entire ticket sales operation for the Aeros, including season tickets, group tickets, and individual game sales.  He brings over nine years of customer service and sales experience with the San Antonio Spurs and Boston Celtics of the NBA.

Riley will be responsible for all of the merchandising efforts of the ballclub and will manage “Infield Outfitters,” the Aeros’ onsite team shop. Last season, he ran one of the Minnesota Twins Team Shops during the inaugural season at Target Field. He has also worked in similar capacities with the St. Paul Saints (independent; American Association) and the Charleston RiverDogs (Low Class A; Sally League).

Kerton has spent six seasons with the Charleston RiverDogs.  He will direct the food and beverage operations at Canal Park, bringing his talents from the Culinary Institute of America to Aeros fans on a nightly basis.     

Muell will be responsible for both season ticket and corporate sales.  He spent last season with the Richmond Flying Squirrels (Class AA; Eastern League) and was part of the organization that led the Eastern League in attendance in its inaugural season.

Baer has spent the past two seasons with the Reading Phillies (Class AA; Eastern League), working with both game-day operations and the ticket office. Baer will assist in all daily ballpark operations initiatives.
