Marlins: We expect to land 2015 All-Star Game

David Samson tells Fish Fans that he expects the team to land the 2015 All-Star Game.

Florida Marlins president David Samson told attendees at the team's annual FanFest he expects the team to land the 2015 All-Star Game.

Hosting an All-Star Game is a considerable showcase for a team; in the case of the Miami Marlins (as the team will be known beginning next season), it will be the chance to showcase what could be a revitalized franchise and a new ballpark, slated to open in 2012.

Angel Stadium will host the 2010 All-Star Game, with Chase Field slated to host in 2011. Past that MLB hasn't made any commitments, though it's very likely Kauffman Stadium will land the 2012 game, Citi Field the 2013 game and Target Field the 2014 game., following the AL/NL pattern.
