New Torrington team passes on booze at ballpark

The owners of the new Torrington team in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League say they're not selling beer at Fuessenich Park.

The owners of the new Torrington team in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League say they're not selling beer at Fuessenich Park, but they're still on track to move the Peekskill Robins and launch play in 2010.

The league approved the move at its annual meeting on Friday.

Passing on beer is a somewhat serious move: beer sales represent a healthy percentage of revenue for summer-collegiate teams.
