A fan visiting the ballpark for a bachelor party was involved in a ballpark melee that moved into the Citizens Bank Park bar and ended up with his beating in the parking lot.

David Sale Jr., 22, was part of a group visiting Citizens Bank Park as part of a bachelor party. There, the group became involved in a dispute with another group of fans who came to the ballpark via bus from a Fishtown bar. Both sides were booted from the ballgame but resumed their arguments in McFaddens, the sports bar at Citizens Bank Park with a separate entrance.

Bar officials subsequently kicked the two parties out of McFaddens, and subsequently things bot ugly: Sale was allegedly beaten until security officials arrived to rescue him. They were too late: he died in the hospital. Two suspects already in custody are expected to be charged with the crime; a third is being sought.
