The issue: the team’s new downtown ballpark is still not done, and the buyout by Billy Prim of co-owner Andrew "Flip" Filipowski is still not completed. Until the buyout is done, Prim has halted work on the $38 million ballpark, which was partially funded by the city. Prim has until March 2010 to complete work on the facility.
Kevin Terry, the president and GM of the Dash, left open the possibility the team could play all season at , which is now owned by Wake Forest University. He declined to estimate when an opening could take place:
"Right now, we just don’t know," Terry said. "It’s going to get built. It’s going to get done — it’s all a matter of time."
