The two-year renovation of Kauffman Stadium is almost complete, and the Kansas City Royals celebrated the occasion with an Opening Day sellout.
The improvements to the ballpark are virtually all oriented toward improving the fan experience. Some began last season — like the installation of a new center-field scoreboard — while others were unveiled in last Sunday’s win over the New York Yankees. They include a wraparound concourse, new restaurants and kids’ play area in right field, expanded concourses, more concessions and renovated restrooms.
