With fans tired of high concession prices, two MLB teams are introducing dollar stands, featuring scaled-down versions of ballpark favorites.
The Cincinnati Reds’ Great American Ball Park will offer a hot dog, soda, peanuts, candy and popcorn at two $1 stands. At the $1 stand at the Milwaukee Brewers’ Miller Park, a hot dog, soda, ice cream, peanuts, popcorn, and cookie will be available.
The dollar stands are a pilot program from concessionaire Delaware North Companies Sportservice.
In addition to the dollar stands, Delaware North Companies Sportservice is unveiling value meals at several ballparks. Value Meals will offer fans three or four menu items bundled together at a discount. For example, at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Sportservice will offer value meals combining ballpark favorites: a hot dog, soda and either potato chips or fries. Different Value Meals will be available in Milwaukee, Cincinnati, the St. Louis Cardinals’ Busch Stadium, the Cleveland Indians’ Progressive Field, the San Diego Padres’ Petco Park and the Detroit Tigers’ Comerica Park.
