Crews are working nonstop to complete All Pro Freight Stadium, the new home of the Lake Erie Crushers (independent; Frontier League) in Avon, Ohio by June 1.
It will be tight, to be sure; the current deadline for having the ballpark ready for occupation is June 1, which happens to be the day before the June 2 opening night. Still, there’s a lot of time between then and now, and crews have been working on a plastic-wrapped grandstand, keeping out the elements and making sure work occurs daily. Making things a little easier: artificial turf.
The $10-million All Pro Freight Stadium will seat 5,000 (3,500 fixed seats, 1,500 on the berm) and feature 11 suites, terrace seating and wraparound concourse.
