NYCBL to Albany

The former Bennington Bombers will set up shop at Bleecker Stadium.
The summer-collegiate New York Collegiate Baseball League is coming to Albany, as the Albany Dutchmen will set up shop at Bleecker Stadium, which dates back to 1936 and once served as the temporary home of the Pittsfield Senators (Class AA; Eastern League) in 1971 and the Albany-Colonie A’s (Class AA; Eastern League) in 1983.

The move puts the Dutchmen in the same market as the Tri-City ValleyCats (short season; NY-Penn League), but we’re not sure the two are true competitors: the ValleyCats have been enhancing their product over the years, while Bleecker will provide a basic experience. In both cases, fans will be able to see stars on their way up.
