A down economy and some bad business decisions in previous years are causing headaches for Major League Baseball teams when it comes to ticket sales.
In Seattle, the Mariners have a deal to buy two season tickets and get two free. In Cleveland, the Indians are offering buy one, get one free deals on select season-ticket packages. In San Francisco, the Giants are offering discount tickets through Costco and introducing dynamic seat pricing, which will in theory drive down the price of seats on slow nights (and increase them when a hot draw is in town). All in all, 23 teams have either cut or frozen ticket prices and introduced discount pricing of some sort.
