The ballpark has been totally renovated in recent years to the point where it was eyed as a potential home for Class A baseball, so its use as the home of the Butler BlueSox (summer collegiate; Prospect Collegiate League) is more than welcome in the Butler community, according to Trich.
There’s a reason why the name is familiar: Trich was one of the founders of the Washington Wild Things (independent; Frontier League) and a founder of the nonprofit group that built CONSOL Energy Park. He’ll be the GM of the new club, formed by the expansion of the Central Illinois Collegiate League eastward.
