The Kane County Cougars (Low A; Midwest League) have announced Northwestern Medicine Field upgrades for the 2020 season, with several areas of the ballpark to receive improvements.
Improvement projects include a new point of sale (POS) system for the concession stands along with digital menu boards, new inflatables in the KidZone, a brand new bar area for the upper-level suites and updates to the ballpark sound system.
“This has been an exciting off-season full of planning,” said Cougars Vice President and General Manager Curtis Haug. “Not only are we looking forward to our 30th-anniversary celebration, but we are looking forward to the fans having the opportunity to enjoy the upgrades currently in progress.”
The investment in a new POS system will allow for easier use for concessions staff resulting in quicker service for guests and better reporting for the Cougars Food & Beverage team. Transitioning from static menu boards to video menu boards above the concession stands will allow the Cougars to not only advertise the food and beverages available, but will also highlight both the daily and weekly specials for guests to better understand the various promotions that will take place throughout the season.
KidZone attractions for the 2020 season will include a new slide, bounce house, obstacle course and speed pitch. The newly constructed suite level bar will be sponsored by Tangled Roots, the official craft beer of the Cougars. Upgrades to the sound system will provide more balance to the volume levels at various points throughout the ballpark and assist with clarity of the PA announcing.
“These improvements will be enjoyed by not only the fans, but by the players, coaches and our staff,” said Cougars owner Dr. Bob Froehlich. “Each step that has been taken this off-season will enhance everyone’s experience as we continue our commitment to provide the best family-friendly entertainment around.”
