Akron RubberDucks Unveil OBJ Dog

New Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is being recognized by the Akron RubberDucks (Class AA; Eastern League) with the OBJ Dog, a new menu item at Canal Park.

The “OBJ Dog” is an all-beef jumbo hot dog dipped in Louisiana Hot Sauce and topped with an onion-bacon-jalapeño (OBJ) relish. It is the perfect way to honor the Louisiana native and star wide receiver. The “OBJ Dog” will sell for $7 at the Dog Pound concession stand down near third base on the Canal Park concourse.

Last season, the RubberDucks honored Browns legend Joe Thomas with a special sandwich titled, “Thanks, Joe!” The team has also done items in the past to honor LeBron James’ return to Northeast Ohio in 2014 (“Return of the King Burger”), to celebrate former Cavaliers’ guard Matthew Dellavedova’s gritty play in 2015 (“The Delly Dog”), for LeBron James’ championship-clinching blocked shot in the 2016 NBA Finals for the Cavaliers (“LeBlock Burger”), and in 2015 the team had the “Johnny Footlong” following the Browns’ drafting of quarterback Johnny Manziel.

“Canal Park’s fun, unique concessions and its Extreme Foods Menu are highlights of coming to a RubberDucks game,” said RubberDucks General Manager Jim Pfander. “We are excited about Odell Beckham Jr. coming to Northeast Ohio, like many of our fans. This Louisiana heat-filled hot dog, topped OBJ-style will have them hungry for football season!”

Beckham, a three-time Pro Bowler who had played for the New York Giants since his rookie season in 2014, was acquired by the Browns in a trade earlier this week.
