A Dover, NH sports complex that includes a new Seacoast Mavericks (summer collegiate; Futures Collegiate Baseball League) ballpark is still being planned, with land acquisition for the project expected to move forward this month.

Mavericks and USA Training Centers owner Dave Hoyt has been working to construct a new sports complex in Dover. Previously disclosed plans have called for a new Mavericks ballpark to anchor a complex that includes additional baseball fields, an indoor baseball training facility, and a training field with a seasonal dome.

More exact information on the final plans for the complex could surface soon, as USA Training Centers is expected to finalize the acquisition of a key property on July 20. More from Seacoastonline.com:

The plan to build a sports complex in Dover that would become the home of the Seacoast Mavericks collegiate baseball team the is still in the works — despite the lack of public action in more than a year.

USA Training Centers owner Dave Hoyt, who also owns the Mavericks, told Seacoast Sunday last week the company is scheduled to acquire the property on Littleworth Road near the Spaulding Turnpike on July 20.

“We are moving forward,” he said.

After concluding their run at Leary Field in Portsmouth in 2017, the Mavericks have not fielded a team during the 2018 Futures Collegiate Baseball League season as they pursue the ballpark/complex project in Dover.
