A record day for the Frisco RoughRiders (Class AA; Texas League), as the team set a day-game attendance mark with 11,844 fans on hand for the afternoon match at Dr Pepper Ballpark.
The crowd, fueled by school kids from across the DFW Metroplex, was the fifth-largest for any RoughRiders game in the history of the franchise, nudging past the 11,842 fans that enjoyed an injury rehab appearance by Rangers’ star Yu Darvish on May 1, 2016.
The top seven and 12 of the top 15 single-game attendances in team history have now come since the start of the 2015 season, the first full season of General Partner & CEO Chuck Greenberg’s ownership tenure.
