The West Virginia Power (Low A; Sally League) are serving up a new amenity at Appalachian Power Park, where the club has added a beach bar.
Among the new offerings at Appalachian Power Park for the 2018 season is a beach bar down the left field line. Officially known as the Corona Beach House, the area features a few interesting touches, such as sand, a tiki hut-style bar, and a menu that includes ahi tuna tacos.
As a new gathering space that is built around offering a relaxed atmosphere, it appears that the Corona Beach House is being well received by fans and front office staff alike in the early stages of the season. More from WOWK 13:
“I’m here to have a great time tonight at the ballpark and to celebrate the opening of the beach bar,” said Holley Durham, a WV Power Fan.
“I just wanted to create a really relaxed atmosphere up here. And have a lot of fun up here at the park,” said Aaron Simmons, Director of Power Food & Beverage….
“We really want to make this as friendly an environment as possible, and allow people to just come here and have a good time. Yes, we have baseball going on and if you want to watch the game, that’s fantastic, but if not we have plenty of other opportunities at the ballpark for everyone for everyone to have a great time,” said David Khan, WV Power Director of Broadcasting and Media.
The Power began their first homestand of the 2018 season on April 5.
