With a special anniversary on the way, the Danville Braves (Rookie; Appalachian League) are unveiling a commemorative 25th anniversary logo.
The D-Braves have played in Danville since 1993 and will celebrate their silver anniversary next season.
“We are excited to celebrate our past 25 years in the Danville community,” said Vice President, General Manager David Cross. “The Braves are pleased to be able to provide quality family entertainment and great baseball to this area. In 2018 we look forward to celebrating our past 25 years while looking forward to the years ahead of us here in the community.”
Since beginning play in 1993, the Danville Braves have welcomed over one million fans to Legion Field and won two Appalachian League championships (2006, 2009). 109 D-Braves have reached the Major Leagues, including current Atlanta Braves Julio Teheran, Tyler Flowers, Ozzie Albies, Johan Camargo, Lucas Sims, and Mauricio Cabrera. Other notable D-Braves alumni include Jeff Francouer, Rafael Furcal, Jason Heyward, Andruw Jones, Craig Kimbrel, Adam LaRoche, and Adam Wainwright.
Over the next several months, the D-Braves will release information regarding promotions celebrating the 25th anniversary.
