The Lake Elsinore Storm (High A; California League) have officially begun the team’s 25th anniversary in 2018 with the unveiling of a new commemorative logo.
There will be plenty of celebrations announced in coming months. Lake Elsinore has had a rich history since Pete Lehr Field, better known as The Diamond, opened in 1994 after the Palm Springs Angels relocated to Lake Elsinore and became the Storm. The Storm was originally affiliated with the California Angels, now the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, from the inaugural 1994 season through 1996, the team’s first California League Championship title. When the Major League affiliate became the Anaheim Angels, the Storm remained with the organization through 2000.
The special logo uses a font that closely aligns with the brand image the Lake Elsinore Storm portrays, while the eyes still take center stage as they are one of Minor League Baseball’s most popular logos. A simplified version of the logo will be worn on the side of the hats throughout the season.
