There is a new baseball-themed wine in the mix, as the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (High A; Carolina League) are teaming up with Duplin Winery to introduce Pelicans Red wine.
The wine will be bottled for the first time with Pelicans staff and team members at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5 at Duplin Winery in North Myrtle Beach.
In addition to their Pelicans Red Muscadine wine, Duplin Winery is also creating a ‘Red Rush Sweetzer,’ to expand the vineyard’s frozen drink line. The winery, located at 4650 Hwy 17 S in North Myrtle Beach, will feature both Pelicans Red and Red Rush Sweetzer during their daily tastings from Monday through Saturday. Duplin Winery at North Myrtle Beach was voted as the Best Wine Tasting Bar in Myrtle Beach by MyrtleBeach.com and also offers visitors a homemade fudge room, gift shop and courtyard in the 15,000 square foot facility.
“Duplin Winery has been an incredible partner of the Pelicans and throughout the Grand Strand. We are excited to grow our relationship beyond the traditional sports marketing aspect and partner on the new Pelicans Red,” said Pelicans president/general manager Andy Milovich. “If the Pelicans Red is anything like Duplin’s current lineup of delicious Muscadine wines, both Pelicans fans and wine enthusiasts throughout the region will be in for a huge treat!”
With a separate location in Rose Hill, North Carolina, Duplin Winery is the oldest and largest winery and vineyard in the Tar Heel State. Throughout both locations, Duplin Winery produces over 4.6 million bottles of wine per year. The winery offers over 40 Muscadine wines including reds, whites, blushes, sangrias and alcohol-free wine.
