A significant milestone is on tap for the Omaha Storm Chasers (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League), as the team expects to welcome its 14th million fan this weekend.
According to the Storm Chasers’ projections, the 14 million threshold should be reached on Saturday or Sunday. That total includes the entire history of the Storm Chasers, dating back to their inaugural season as the Omaha Royals in 1969.
The lucky fan is expected to receive a prize pack that will include two 36-game ticket packages in Section 114 for the 2017 season, 14 baseballs autographed by current and former Storm Chasers players, 14 Giveaway Items, including a Mike Moustakas Bobble-Antler and Werner Park Replica, a #14 Personalized Storm Chasers Powder Blue Jersey and 14 Werner Park Bucks that can be used at the ballpark for food, tickets and merchandise.
As of July 28, the Omaha franchise has seen 13,987,282 fans combined at Rosenblatt Stadium and Werner Park dating back to the team’s inaugural 1969 season. A total of 2,394,654 fans have attended a game at Werner Park since Opening Day on April 16, 2011, including 333,546 guests during the current Fifth Anniversary Season at Werner Park.
The Storm Chasers have also announced six sellout crowds already this year, surpassing the previous single-season Werner Park record of four set during the 2014 campaigns and matched in 2015. The team has also averaged 5,296 fans per game in 2016.
Just last season, the Storm Chasers welcomed the “Two Millionth Fan” through the gates at Werner Park since the ballpark was opened in 2011. Omaha also announced the “13 Millionth Fan” in franchise history during the 2014 campaign.
