Hitting a grand slam can be a thrill, but it was a slightly different experience for Brandon Thomas of the Gateway Grizzlies (Independent; Frontier League), who destroyed his own windshield.
During a slug fest at GCS Ballpark on Sunday, Scott hit a towering grand slam over the left field wall to give the Grizzlies a 4-3 lead. That blast proved significant, as it sparked an offensive outburst from the Grizzlies that resulted in them winning by a final of 17-6. However, Scott did not find out until later on that the ball had flown through the windshield of his 2008 Toyota Tundra.

Though it was an unfortunate for Thomas, the incident has prompted some media coverage from both him and the team, as he was featured on SportsCenter. Thomas told SportsCenter that someone has come forward to help pay for the damage to the windshield. The Grizzlies estimated that the home run traveled 394 feet.
