We have personnel news today from the Boise Hawks (Short Season A; Northwest League) and the Hagerstown Suns (Low A; Sally League).
In Boise, the Hawks have named Mike Van Hise as their new Assistant General Manager. Van Hise has spent 11 years in minor league baseball, with the last two as the Director of Ticket Sales for the Hawks’ sister team, the Augusta GreenJackets (Low A; Sally League).
“Having Mike on board in Boise is a great addition for our front office,” said Hawks General Manager Bob Flannery. “Mike has gained valuable experience in Augusta and in his stint with Lakewood. We are looking forward to his contributions to the club,” noted Flannery.
The Hawks have also hired Brooke Bedgood as the team’s Corporate Sales Manager. Bedgood had worked previously with the Atlanta Falcons and the San Diego Padres. Additionally, Jon Jensen has been brought on as an Account Executive after spending the 2015 season with the Hawks in a seasonal role. Finally, Eneko Bereziartua, a graduate of Boise’s Bishop Kelly High School, has been promoted as the team’s full-time Box Office Manager.
“Our front office is gearing up for what should be another fun and exciting season in the Treasure Valley this summer. Our staff has grown over the past few years and this will have a positive impact in everything we do,” said Flannery.
In Hagerstown, Brian Saddler has been named the new Assistant General Manager. He is appointed to the position after serving four seasons as the Suns head grounds keeper.
Saddler is a native of Kolby, KS, but has become ingrained in the Hagerstown community. He resides in the area with his wife, and serves on the board of Hagerstown’s National Little League.
“I am excited to keep everything on the grounds moving in an upward trend” Saddler said. When asked about the new position he continued with “I’m looking forward to the chance to get more involved in the business side of baseball”.
Saddler graduated from the University of Kansas with a major in horticulture, and a minor in leadership studies and programs.
