With the end of the Eastern League regular season and the attendance crown up for grabs, we have a winner: the Richmond Flying Squirrels, as today’s crowd of 5,751 gives the team a season total of 417,828 fans — some 818 more than the Reading Fightin Phils.
The Fightin Phils ended up with a season tally of 417,010. The Flying Squirrels also won the per-game matchup, drawing 11 more fans per game than Reading.
This marks the fourth time the Squirrels have won the overall attendance title in six years (2014, 2012 and 2010 are the other three years).
