The first of many notes on the end of the season for most MiLB teams: For the first time ever the Harrisburg Senators (Class AA; Eastern League) passed the 300,000 mark in season attendance, drawing 301,558 fans to Metro Bank Park.
The previous record was set in 2010, when the team drew 294,325 fans.
Yesterday the Senators passed the mark of 294,325 fans to set their all-time high, which lasted for one game. The new high-water mark and the surpassing of 300,000 fans to Metro Bank Park happened despite two rainouts this year.
Helping push the Senators over the top was a successful August as the Senators drew over 55,000 fans to Metro Bank Park in ten August dates. In addition, over the weekend of July 23-26 in a four-game series against Bowie, the Senators drew a record 25,133 fans for the series. That set an all-time high for a four-game weekend series for the Senators.
