Yet another attendance mark for the South Bend Cubs (Low Class A; Midwest League), as the team’s gate last night surpassed the record set in July 2013.
Last night saw 7,786 fans on hand at Four Winds Field for Friday’s 3-2 win over Bowling Green. That breaks the previous mark of 7,287, set in July 2013.
On Opening Night on April 9, the Cubs welcomed 7,086 fans through the gates, a franchise record for a season opener.
In 2014, South Bend set a new single-season total attendance record.
