Cougars unveil videoboard upgrade for Fifth Third Bank Ballpark

New Fifth Third Bank Ballpark videoboard, Kane County Cougars

This is obviously the year of the videoboard upgrade, with the Kane County Cougars (Low Class A; Midwest League) and Fifth Third Bank Ballpark joining the parade of teams and facilities installing high-def videoboards.

The new videoboard from YESCO Electronics measures 20 feet by 60 feet, more than three times as large as the Cougars’ previous videoboard. The new technologically advanced outdoor LED videoboard is capable of delivering HD-format video feeds and instant replays as well as sponsor messages and advertising.

“The anticipation towards Opening Night on April 9 only continues to rise with today’s announcement of our new video board partnership with YESCO,” said Cougars Owner Dr. Bob Froehlich. “This new video board is an extremely important part of our off-season capital improvement projects and demonstrates our continued commitment to provide the best experience possible to everyone associated with Cougars baseball.”

“Our agreement to partner with YESCO was largely driven by their unparalleled quality of work with other arenas and stadiums throughout the country,” said Cougars Vice President/General Manager Curtis Haug. “Cougars fans will simply be amazed by what they see beginning on Opening Night at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark. Our new state-of-the-art video board will elevate the game experience and serve as a tremendous asset for not only fans, but our marketing partners as well.”

“We are very excited to be a part of the video display upgrade at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark,” said Chris Olinger, director of live event projects for YESCO Electronics. “This display represents a large leap forward in brightness, clarity, contrast and motion video picture quality. It will really add to the great atmosphere on game day.”

This should be a year of big changes for the Cougars. Besides gaining a new parent in the form of the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Cougars have announced partnerships this off-season with Rainbow Play Systems for title sponsorship of the Cougars’ new KidZone area and with Mueller, a Chicagoland certified public accounting and business consulting firm, for title sponsorship of the Cougars’ new “Strike Zone” seating. Plans continue to move forward with several other aspects of the Cougars’ capital improvement projects including the construction of a new permanent music pavilion for concerts and special events, along with a new indoor hitting facility .
