Ripken Stadium unveils orange outfield wall for home opener

Aberdeen IronBirdsThis should be a cool look: Ripken Baseball installed a new orange outfield wall at Ripken Stadium, home of the Aberdeen IronBirds (short season A; NY-Penn League), as part of a larger ballpark upgrade.

“”We designed the new outfield wall to enhance the fan experience and to create a distinct home field advantage for the new-look IronBirds,”” said Colin Clark, Ripken Baseball’ Vice President of Brand Marketing. The team will also don new Under Armour uniforms.”

The facility upgrade was completed by Promats Athletics, a manufacturer for protective pads in major league and college baseball for more than two decades. The project included installation of 390 pads that blends “Ripken orange” with black pads covering the backstop wall, dugouts and batter’’s eye in center field.

The iconic Orioles black-and-orange color scheme is incorporated throughout Ripken Stadium at new hospitality areas that include the 378 Bar presented by Sam Adams, the Natty Boh Garden, and the Extra Innings Café presented by Hollywood Casino.

Fans can get their first look at the new and improved Ripken Stadium during the IronBirds home opener on Friday, June 20 at 7:35 p.m. against the Brooklyn Cyclones.
