There will be a huge upgrade to Bruno Stadium this season, as the Tri-City ValleyCats (short season A; NY-Penn League) are unveiling a new state-of-the- art LED videoboard.
The board will be the largest main video display in the NY-Penn League.
Following a bid process, LSI Industries was selected for the project, and will install their SMARTVISION display. The video board will measure at approximately 36 feet wide by 17 feet high, and feature 20mm TRUE pixel technology. LSI worked on the deal in conjunction with TSE Services.
The new videoboard will replace the old display in left field and will provide the fans with a more up-close and personal view of the action, both on the field and in the stands.
“The ValleyCats remain committed to providing the best possible experience for our fans, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to introduce this game changing enhancement for the 2014 season,” said ValleyCats Vice President/General Manager Rick Murphy. “This new videoboard will create a one-of-a-kind atmosphere that will tremendously improve the way our fans enjoy ValleyCats baseball, our award winning promotions, and family friendly entertainment.”
The entire scope of the project will cost approximately $300,000, which will be paid for by the Tri-City ValleyCats through a financing agreement with Hudson Valley Community College over the remaining term of their lease. Hudson Valley’s baseball team also calls Joseph L. Bruno Stadium home, and the college utilizes the facility each year for their commencement ceremony. “The Joe” also plays host to numerous high school baseball games each spring.
“Our partnership with the ValleyCats has provided an incredible venue for baseball and community events for more than a decade. We’re looking forward to the stadium upgrades, as well as welcoming fans to campus for another successful season,” said Hudson Valley Community College President Drew Matonak.
