The Myrtle Beach Pelicans (High Class A; Carolina League) are doubling their offer to Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson to appear in a single game, from $10,000 charitable donation to the organization of his choice,to $20,000.
“We recognize that Russell’s commitment to the Seahawks means he’ll likely never play a game, but he has an open invitation to TicketReturn.Com Field any time,” said Pelicans General Manager Andy Milovich. The team’s plans would be to have Russell spend a few minutes addressing kids in a pre-game clinic and participate in the team’s pre-game show via a Question and Answer session with Pelicans Managing Partner Chuck Greenberg.
“He’s a remarkable young man and I hope we have an opportunity to reward him and his charity for a remarkable season,” Milovich added. “He’s welcome to choose a date that fits his schedule, but we’re eyeing the week of April 14th to give him a chance to join the festivities during Monday After the Masters.”
In addition to the $20,000, the Pelicans have partnered with businesses throughout the community to provide a complimentary vacation for Wilson and his wife.
