Another in today’s parade of attendance records to note: the summer-collegiate Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL) saw 186,410 fans walk through the gates for an average of 871 fans per night, an increase of more than 10,000 fans over 2012.
For the second straight year four FCBL teams averaged over 1,000 fans per night. The Brockton Rox led the season with 38,151 fans for an average of 1,590 per night. The Nashua Silver Knights had 34,249 fans for an average of 1,370 per night. The Pittsfield Suns had 28,524 fans for an average of 1,297 per night. The North Shore Navigators had 26,873 fans for an average of 1,075 fans per night. You can see the full attendance figures here.
“We had a rough start to the season with close to 20 rainouts in the month of June,” said FCBL Commissioner Chris Hall. “To see the success of the league in these three short years I cannot thank the fans enough.”
The FCBL wrapped up their season and playoffs two weeks ago with the Nashua Silver Knights Vs. Martha’s Vineyard Sharks, where the Sharks won the championship.
