MiLB teams go patriotic for Fourth of July weekend

Johnson City Cardinals

A good reason to hit the ballpark this Independence Day weekend: 106 Minor League Baseball clubs will wear specialty New Era Cap Company “Stars & Stripes” caps, featuring a navy bill and a gray crown with the participating club’s logo with stars and/or stripes in red, white and blue.

The 106 clubs and Major League Baseball Properties, Minor League Baseball’s licensing agent, have agreed to donate all royalties from the sales of these caps to Welcome Back Veterans, a program which addresses the needs of returning American Veterans and their families. New Era Cap Company is donating a portion of the sales to Welcome Back Veterans.

This is the fourth consecutive year that MiLB clubs have taken part in the “Stars & Stripes” cap program. The caps will be available for purchase in the ballparks of participating clubs, as well as on some clubs’ websites.
